Special event with Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra

15 September 2019 – h.21.30 – Churchyard of the Cathedral – Conversano

AYSO is the acronym of Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra, a youth orchestra composed of about 70 musicians aged between 13 and 25 from no less than 8 Music Conservatories.

A project by Teresa Satalino from Puglia who, a few months after its foundation, has already collected important awards for rigor and high-profile training.

The young musicians had the opportunity to attend an orchestral training academy, OrchestrAcademy, working steadily with some musicians of the Orchestra of the Teatro Petruzzelli Foundation in Bari: guests of the orchestra were also, in 2018, Nir Kabaretti, formerly assistant to Zubin Mehta at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and today musical director of the Santa Barbara Symphony, violinist Gernot Süßmuth and cellist Jelena Ocic.

After its debut at the Ritratti Festival, together with some tutors among the soloists in the 2019 Festival residences, AYSO inaugurated the Italian Brass Week in Florence on 21 July with a world premiere performance and with 11 soloists from the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Florentine. On July 25th he participated in the International Festival of Youth Orchestras performing in Piazza della Signoria with the New York Chamber Orchestra.

Sunday, September 15th at 9.30pm the Imaginaria festival greets the city with a concert by the Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra on the Cathedral Square.
